Raye’s using ‘bad experiences’ to boot inequality out of studio

RAYE says a string of ‘horrible experiences’ with men in the studio spurred her to set up her all female writing camp on International Women’s Day on Friday.
The 21-year-old detailed her ordeal but is adamant the ‘female perspective’ is finally set to shine in the music biz.
Speaking exclusively to Guilty Pleasures about her abuse at work, the You Don’t Know Me singer admitted: ‘I have (had bad experiences). Most women have.
‘In the studio, men can sometimes abuse their power and I have had a few very horrible experiences, which is one of the main reasons I really want a safe environment for girls to come.
‘You can dress how you like and not have to worry about tip-toeing around any of that rubbish.
‘As women, we are always in the studio with a man. I have worked with a female producer about twice and I have been working in the music industry for seven years.’
She finished: ‘It just needs to be more even. The female perspective is incredible and needs to be embraced and not discriminated against, put down or paid less.
‘We’re going to excel and shock a lot of men.’
