Phil Collins thanks fans after head injury

PHIL COLLINS has issued an apology to fans after a nasty fall yesterday led him to cancel his London tour dates.
The former Genesis singer, who is in the middle of a comeback tour, gashed his head very near his eye in a fall that took place in his hotel room.
His manager explained: ‘He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair.’
Poor Phil needed stitches and will be kept under observation for 24 hours.

His manager speculated the fall might have been due to a condition called ‘drop foot’, which Phil has as a result of back surgery and which makes it difficult for him to walk.
But Collins is apparently ‘recovering well’ and ‘sends his sincere apologies’ to fans.
His manager added: ‘He has had a fantastic week at his first shows in 10 years, cannot thank people enough for their warm reaction and is excited to return.’
Phil’s Thursday and Friday concerts, which were due to take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, have been postponed until November 26 and 27.
He is expected to continue his comeback tour in Cologne, Germany, on Sunday before performing at British Summer Time Hyde Park on June 30.
