X Factor winner Dalton Harris dreams of having children… for those ‘unconditional’ feelings

DALTON HARRIS has triumphed on The X Factor and notched up a chart-topping single… but what he really wants is to be a father.
‘I would love to be a dad and, when I get to that point, it will be awesome,’ the singer exclusively told Guilty Pleasures. ‘I am only 24, but hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later because I want to teach somebody the strength that I taught myself.
‘I want to give a little person love and mould them into something. I want to feel that unconditional love.’
Dalton — who grew up in poverty in Jamaica — has already revealed how he was homeless by the age of 15. He admits he would never want his ‘son or daughter to be in that situation’.
He explained: ‘Nobody wants to be homeless and the worst part was being alone. Again it boils back to hard work because there are a lot of things that you can’t control and I was subject to poverty, but you have to take what you can get and make the most of it.’
The Power Of Love, his duet with former X Factor champ James Arthur, is No.1 in the Official Vodafone Big Top 40, and focusing on his career has left Dalton no time for romance.
His most recent relationship ended last December… but he knows what he wants in a woman. ‘I like a woman who is powerful and knows exactly what she is and what she wants,’ he said.
Dalton admits to a crush on Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei. ‘She’s my ideal type,’ he said. ‘Strong and beautiful.’ However, he stressed: ‘I am not in that place right now and even if I did have a girlfriend, I’d keep it private.’
