Wombats singer Murph thanks ‘crazy’ wife for number one bid album

THE WOMBATS’ frontman Murph thanks his ‘crazy’ wife for their album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, leading the race to this week’s No 1.

Describing tracks such as Lemon To A Knife Fight, Murph, 33, told Guilty Pleasures: ‘It’s all from real-life experience. My wife is completely crazy so I have an endless fountain of inspiration.’

The couple are enjoying their new life in Hollywood. ‘I love it,’ he said. ‘It’s such a silly place. One minute you are watching the news and the next minute you are smoking weed with Steve Buscemi.’

As for the chances of The Wombats — Murph’s bandmates are Tord Øverland Knudsen and Dan Haggis — topping the charts, he said: ‘I think it’s our best album yet.’
