Why Sam Smith was distracted by Tom Hardy

SAM SMITH has explained why he seemed shaken and stirred at the Academy Awards — and Tom Hardy could be to blame.

It turns out the singer was distracted by The Revenant star last year as he sang his Oscar-winning James Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall. ‘I wanted to look sexy in front of him and I didn’t,’ quipped Sam.

These days he is taking tips from Sir Elton John. Sam told Billboard: ‘He said how important live music is and how I’ve got to focus on that.’
