Why Kate Winslet took over in socks scene with Idris Elba
KATE WINSLET wore the trousers — and the socks — while getting down and dirty with Idris Elba in their new film.
There was no question as to who was boss when the actress took control of their sex scene in survival drama The Mountain Between Us, directed by Hany Abu-Assad.
‘I had to be quite bossy. I’ve done quite a lot of these scenes before and poor Hany was really quite nervous,’ Winslet said on Graham Norton’s show.
‘Idris was a bit nervous, too, and everything was moving a bit slowly so I just said, “OK boys, this is what we are going to do.”’
The 42-year-old Oscar winner then put her foot in it by revealing Elba has a surprising fetish for feet. ‘We got naked, but Idris asked me to keep my socks on,’ she added. ‘I thought he didn’t like feet, but it is the opposite — Idris loves feet!’
The Luther actor, 45, confessed: ‘I’ve just got a bit of a thing…’
He then opened up about problems peeing during the movie’s sub-zero shoot in British Columbia, Canada.
‘There is a lot of steam and then frozen crystals… bing, bing, bing,’ he shuddered. ‘You have to put everything away VERY quickly.’
Despite his sex symbol status, Elba is yet to be seen in a rom-com. ‘I just haven’t had the opportunity,’ he said. ‘I’ve done a lot of films where there are a lot of guys, so I just haven’t had the chance.’
