We snubbed Eurovision in case it all ended in Tears, say Steps

STEPS claim they were offered the chance to represent Britain in Eurovision several times but said no for fear they would finish bottom.
The pop quintet, who are returning with a single and new album Tears On The Dance Floor, said performing in the cheesy song contest would have been a ‘gamble’.
Claire Richards explained: ‘I love the idea of it but I just think that Britain’s track record is not great and I don’t know if I want to add that to our legacy.’
Lisa Scott-Lee added: ‘We had been asked to reunite for things like Eurovision and we just didn’t feel that was right for us.’
But bandmate H told ITV’s Lorraine: ‘I love Eurovision, I love cheese, bring on the cheese!’
