Watch Rupert take on the Shape of Ed

RUPERT GRINT has magnificently spoofed the fact he’s constantly being mistaken for Ed Sheeran.

In an MTV video, the flame-haired star claims he’s been living a double life, pretending to be both the Harry Potter actor and the chart-topping crooner.

Just as he is about to perform as Ed, he realises he can’t take it any more, and reveals: ‘The truth is, Ed isn’t real!

‘My name is Rupert Grint. After Potter, all I wanted to do was stretch myself … create some real magic.

‘So I created a character. He had the voice of an angel … and impossibly wispy facial hair, a guitar, a bunch of flannel. I call him Ed. Ed Sheeran. Such a weird name, right?’

‘I just didn’t expect everyone to think he was real. He became my greatest acting achievement and bane of my existence.’
