Versace drama blundered over Madonna’s role, says Donatella

DONATELLA VERSACE says a key character is missing from the controversial TV series about the murder of her brother Gianni — Madonna.
The platinum blonde Italian, played by Penélope Cruz in American Crime Story: The Assassination Of Gianni Versace, revealed that just after the 1997 killing she drove to the designer’s Miami mansion, where ‘Madonna was waiting for me inside’.
Claiming that the omission of Madge was a major error in the show, Donatella, 62, said: ‘She was trying to comfort me. There were FBI agents everywhere. They interrogated each of us… my brother had just been murdered, and we were being treated like suspects.’
She won’t forgive producer Ryan Murphy for making the series, telling W magazine: ‘I still get as angry as I did on the first day when people want to make money with lies about Gianni.’
