Vamps dethrone Ed Sheeran… but find fame game a chore

THEY’VE ended Ed Sheeran’s 14-week run at the top of the charts but The Vamps are unlikely to bag as many famous hangers-on as the record-breaking singer.
The band’s album Night & Day entered the chart at No.1 on Friday, but frontman Brad Simpson, 21, told Guilty Pleasures wooing Hollywood chums is not the lads’ style.
‘We’re not catered to that kind of lifestyle, we are four very normal lads,’ he said. ‘We’re guilty of keeping everything within our circle. Sometimes we have to give ourselves a kick up the a*** to go socialise with other people.’
Addressing their apparent obsession with the time of day — previous hits are Last Night, All Night and Middle Of The Night — Brad said it’s ‘genuinely unintentional’, adding: ‘We are Vamps. We are vampires, it’s the only time we go out.’
