Tweet Stormz keep raging on for Maya Jama

RADIO 1 star Maya Jama is warning Twitter followers to be careful what they tweet after both she and her boyfriend Stormzy became ensnared in controversy on social media.
The 24-year-old MTV beauty is still haunted by an offensive quote she posted in 2012 mocking dark-skinned women — even though she apologised at the time.
Now, speaking exclusively to Guilty Pleasures about the furore, Maya admitted: ‘The hard thing is that it doesn’t go away.
‘It’s not like something you say with your friends that can get forgotten. It just stays.’ Last year her lover Stormzy, 25, also tripped up online when he said sorry for homophobic tweets he had fired out between 2011 and 2014, dubbing them ‘unacceptable and disgusting’.
Meanwhile, Maya — who is busy promoting her chart-topping podcast When Life Gives You Melons — explained why she won’t be tying the knot with her partner of three years any time soon, or having children.
‘Right now I want to focus on my career, but hopefully one day…’ she said. ‘It’s one of those things that you think will happen at some point in the future. But I am still quite young.’
Instead the model, of Somali and Swedish descent but born and brought up in Bristol, says she would like to retrace her heritage and help disadvantaged kids in the poverty-hit African nation.
Maya told us: ‘I’d like to open a school in Somalia and give something back.
‘When you have success, you want to start helping others.’
