Truth be told, Katy did a lot more than kiss a girl

KATY Perry caused quite the, er, frill when she revealed it was a lot more than a kiss with a girl that inspired her debut hit in 2008.

The I Kissed A Girl singer told a human rights gala in LA she once ‘prayed the gay away at Jesus camps’ during her religious upbringing with pastor parents.

Speaking of her hit as she accepted a National Equality Award on Saturday, Perry told fans: ‘Truth be told, I did more than that!

‘What I did know was I was curious and that sexuality was not as black and white as this dress,’ the 32-year-old star said.

She is glad the song ‘started a conversation’, adding: ‘I have to stand up what is true. That is equality and justice for all.’
