Tom Walker: No need for reality show

HIS song Leave A Light On became an unexpected hit thanks to Love Island — but Tom Walker would never take part in the show himself because he recently became engaged.
The Scottish singer-songwriter has been dating student Annie for five years. They met in a French ski resort, and he proposed during a trip to Sri Lanka.
However the 26-year-old has no immediate plans to wed as he is busy promoting his debut album What A Time To Be Alive and starts rehearsals for a UK tour next month. Talking to GP from Australia, where Leave A Light On has gone stratospheric, Tom said: ‘We haven’t seen each other all year because I have been busy with promotional duties and touring, so I flew Annie out to Sri Lanka and it was just me and her in a house in the middle of the jungle.
‘I proposed on the first night… and of course I got down on one knee. She burst into tears when I asked her.’
Now that Tom is firmly off the market, he would never go on Love Island. ‘But I don’t think they would invite me,’ he added. ‘I would rather be touring and doing music than being on a f***ing love show. I would have to go to the gym for about three years solid!’
However he is grateful for the exposure Love Island gave his track. ‘It’s crazy that apparently 840 million people have heard it… so a big shout-out to the series producers,’ he said.
