Tom speaks out on Swift romance and that T-shirt

TOM Hiddleston has finally opened up about his high-profile but short-lived romance with Taylor Swift — and insisted it was ‘no showmance’.
The Night Manager star said he had to be ‘psychologically strong’ to not let other people’s interpretations about the relationship affect him.
‘A relationship exists between two people. We will always know what it was,’ he said.
He called the pop star ‘an amazing woman’ and revealed he is worried if he’ll ever date again after being mocked for wearing a ‘I ♥ T.S’ vest while on the beach with Swift and her friends.
The 35-year-old told GQ magazine: ‘The truth is it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back.
‘I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, “Does anyone have a T-shirt?” And one of her friends said, “I’ve got this.” We all laughed about it. It was a joke,’ he added. Dismissing the rumours that the romance was a publicity stunt, the Golden Globe winner said: ‘Of course it was real. She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time.’
He explained they tried to enjoy a regular relationship by ‘going out for dinner, going travelling’, but added that it was difficult to do that when two people are ‘in the limelight’. Hiddleston — who split with the Shake It Off singer, 27, in September, wonders how he’ll date again. ‘I’m still trying to work out a way of having a personal life and protecting it but also without hiding,’ he said.
