There was no Banana drama, we just went our different ways
THE trio glossed over the drama that caused Siobhan to do a runner almost 20 years ago.
‘We didn’t fall out and argue, we just took different paths in our lives and evolved as different people,’ insisted Keren.
‘It wasn’t like we had enough of each other. We were teenagers when we started and then were in our late 20s and were like, “well you’ve changed”.’
Siobhan, 58, backed that version of history and said she had no idea she was jumping on the comeback bandwagon by saying yes.
‘It’s nothing to do with the flurry of reunions,’ she added. ‘Keren asked me at the beginning of December. Something in my heart… I was so shocked and touched, just the idea of it. Somehow I felt I needed to do this. As Keren said, “It’s now or never”.’
However her replacement Jacquie O’Sullivan, 56, is still on the outside after she quit in 1991. Keren admitted: ‘I haven’t seen her for ages. It was about the original line-up. She was in it for a couple of years.’
