Tess makes a Daly of it at Wimbledon
TV COUPLE Tess Daly and Vernon Kay showed their flair for fashion as they joined other celebs in the royal box on a day out at Wimbledon.
Presenter and quiz show host Kay, 44, happily posed for selfies with fans before the action began on Centre Court. But for BBC star Daly, who looked chic in a pastel pink trouser suit, it was Strictly about the tennis.
‘I am totally excited to be here,’ the 49-year-old Strictly Come Dancing co-presenter said before watching women’s champion Garbiñe Muguruza start her title defence against Britain’s Naomi Broady.
‘It is always a pleasure to be at Wimbledon and I am looking forward to seeing Naomi play,’ she added. Unseeded Broady lost in straight sets to the Spanish star.
Other famous faces at SW19 yesterday included Game Of Thrones actor Charles Dance and veteran broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald.
Nip/Tuck actress Joely Richardson, 52, was also in the royal box with her screenwriter brother Carlo Nero.
‘We are incredible tennis buffs,’ she said. ‘As kids we used to queue and sleep overnight to get tickets.’
