Taylor Swift gives lyrics lawsuit pair the shake off

TAYLOR SWIFT has branded songwriters trying to sue her a ‘pair of money grabbers’ after rubbishing claims Shake It Off is a rip off of one of their old tunes.
The pop star, 27, is being sued by Sean Hall and Nathan Butler, who say the lyrics of her 2014 track have been copied from their song Playas Gon’ Play.
Recorded by girl group 3LW in 2001, it peaked at No.81 on the Billboard chart.
Lyrics in the song include: ‘Playas, they gonna play and haters, they gonna hate.’
Taylor’s ditty includes the chorus: ‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play/ And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.’
Taylor — who co-wrote the hit with Max Martin and Shellback — moved quickly to slamdunk the lawsuit.
A rep for the US star said: ‘This is a ridiculous claim and nothing more than a money grab. The law is simple and clear. They do not have a case.’
