Taylor Swift Shakes Off claims she pinched lyrics

TAYLOR SWIFT has beaten claims that she stole lyrics for Shake It Off — after a judge ruled they are too ‘banal’ to be worthy of copyright protection.
The 28-year-old was accused by songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler of lifting from Playa’s Gon’ Play, released by girl band 3LW in 2001. The track’s lyrics include ‘playas, they gonna play, and haters, they gonna hate’ — similar to the chorus of Swift’s 2014 smash hit.
But California judge Michael Fitzgerald said: ‘The lyrics are short phrases that lack the modicum of originality and creativity required for copyright protection.’
