Suranne Jones is a perfect gentleman
SURANNE JONES is to star in a period lesbian romp from the creator of Happy Valley.
The Doctor Foster actress will appear in BBC drama Gentleman Jack, written by Sally Wainwright.
The series tells the true story of 19th century landowner Anne Lister who embarked on a passionate affair with another woman.
Jones, 38, who worked with Wainwright on ITV’s Scott & Bailey, said: ‘The script is fresh, daring and bizarre.’ Wainwright described the part as ‘an epic challenge that will require all the boldness, subtlety, energy and humour I know only Suranne will bring to it’.
Jones returns later this year in a second series of Doctor Foster.
