‘Suicide’ of Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington

THE singer from ‘nu-metal’ band Linkin Park has killed himself at the age of 41, it was reported last night.
Chester Bennington, whose group had hits such as In The End and Jay-Z collaboration Numb/Encore, died at his Los Angeles home yesterday.
Linkin Park’s 2000 debut album Hybrid Theory was one of the decade’s bestsellers. Bennington, a father of six, also fronted re-formed grunge band Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015.He performed with Linkin Park at London’s O2 Arena earlier this month (pictured).
His death came on what would have been his friend and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday. Cornell took his own life in May and Bennington sang Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah at his funeral.
