Strictly’s Shirley Ballas branded a ‘villain’

STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has been described as a ‘villain’ who bears more than a fleeting resemblance to the dog skin-loving Disney character Cruella de Vil.
The comments were made by her fellow panellist Craig Revel Horwood after he himself came in for criticism for giving show favourite Aston Merrygold a low score, which contributed to his surprise departure.

Craig told The Sun: ‘Shirley is this year’s villain — she’s frighteningly technical with her criticism, and I know the audience might struggle with that.’
He added that she ‘totally channelled’ the 101 Dalmatians baddie Cruella for Strictly’s Halloween show.
Newbie Ballas’s judging style has divided fans of the popular dance contest, with some complaining that her use of technical jargon is ‘over the top’, while others appreciate the ‘proper constructive criticism’.
