Strictly’s Mollie branded slow on the uptake — by her bandmate Frankie Bridge

IT was a case of ‘with friends like these…’ when Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge branded her Saturdays bandmate Mollie King ‘a little slower at picking things up’.
Frankie also let on to ITV’s Lorraine that her pal is feeling ‘nervous’ about dancing on Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday.

One of the problems Frankie — who herself appeared on the dance show in 2014 — revealed is that being a pop star ‘people assume you’re a trained dancer’.
‘But neither of us were, and it’s completely different,’ she said.
‘I mean, in The Saturdays we did a lot of [posing] and walking, which isn’t quite the same as ballroom and Latin.’
It was then she dropped her clanger…
‘But Mollie is a little slower at picking things up, which I think is making her nervous.’
Ouch! Perhaps realising what she’d said, Frankie hastily added: ‘But I have every faith in her, obviously.’
The foot-in-mouth moment comes after Frankie may have dropped her pal in it in another way too.
In an interview with The Sun yesterday she seemed to suggest that Mollie might be up for a little more than a quick step with her Strictly dance partner AJ Pritchard.

‘Molls is young and single, so why not?’ she said.
‘Mollie and AJ really gel together, they get on and their personalities are really similar. They’re a really good match.’
Frankie also branded her pal ‘super-competitive’, but rescued the situation somewhat saying: ‘She doesn’t need me or my advice — she is going to look great in all the costumes and she is already a really good dancer.’
