Strictly curse? I’m sweet, says Blue’s Lee Ryan

BLUE singer Lee Ryan had no worries about the ‘Strictly curse’ as he was announced as the dance show’s 12th celebrity contestant today.
The reason he’s not phased by the prospect of suffering a very public breakup with an offscreen partner like many Strictly contestants before him is that despite having been in a string of high-profile relationships — from Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon to Caprice and his Big Brother co-star Jasmine Waltz — the 35-year-old singer-turned-soap star is currently unattached.
The EastEnders bad boy, who also came out as bisexual during his time on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, was revealed as the latest addition to the BBC’s flagship show on Loose Women today, but when asked about the curse he claimed ignorance.
‘What is the Strictly curse? I’m single, I’m sweet,’ Lee said.

What he is worried about, however — despite his boyband pedigree — is the dancing.
He told the ITV show’s panel: ‘I was nervous — even to say yes.’
He also had some body hang-ups to battle, he admits.
‘I’ve been boxing loads just trying to get my weight down,’ he said.
And he doesn’t seem to fancy his chances of winning either, rating Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts the most likely to succeed.
‘She has got a really good chance, she’s a great dancer, as it is’,’ he said.
The other celebrities announced to appear on the show include newsreader Kate Silverton, comedian Seann Walsh, documentary presenter Stacey Dooley, This Morning’s Dr Ranj Singh and former cricketer Graeme Swann.
Completing the line-up of stars hoping to waltz to victory is TV presenter Katie Piper, Steps singer Faye Tozer, Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules, YouTube star Joe Sugg and Capital DJ Vick Hope.
