Stormzy knocks it out of the park as album debuts

STORMZY wasn’t about to Shut Up for anyone as he took to a north London park to promote his debut album.
The grime star, who launched Gang Signs And Prayer this morning, surprised fans by announcing the event on Twitter at 11.39am — less than two hours before its 1pm start time.
Those who made it to Castlehaven Park in Camden were rewarded with al fresco renditions of Big For Your Boots and Shut Up — and by the looks of it they loved it.
One posted a pic of Stormzy surrounded by iPhone-toting fans, captioned: ‘Sunshine and surprise @Stormzy1 with allll of the iPhones. Not bad, Camden, not bad. #GSAP’
And they weren’t the only ones heaping praise on the artist. Lily Allen, Adele, Ed Sheeran and Skepta all took to Twitter to big up their pal.
Lily, who features on the album, wrote: ‘Absolute honour to be involved and sing w/u only wish we had more time.’
Adele wrote: ‘This fine young man’s album is out today. Good luck darling.’
And Ed Sheeran tweeted: ‘what a debut album. check it out people x.’
Fellow grime artist Skepta wrote that ‘king’ Stormzy had ‘blessed the planet’.
After the surprise gig Stormzy delighted fans by hanging around to chat and take selfies.
