Stormzy enraged by police tweet
STORMZY has slammed law enforcement officers after a drugs bust in southeast London was linked to this weekend’s Notting Hill Carnival.
The grime star seemingly became incensed when the Metropolitan Police implied a link between a kilo of heroin being found in Catford and the colourful event that takes place on the opposite side of the capital.
Following the bust, the Met tweeted: ‘In the run up to #NottingHillCarnival, officers have this morning seized what is believed to be a kilo of uncut heroin in #Catford.’
But Stormzy wasn’t happy with the casual linking of the two, tweeting back: ‘How many drugs did you lot seize in the run up to Glastonbury or we only doing tweets like this for black events?’
Some responded that Carnival is in fact a multicultural not ‘black’ event and a few pedants pointed out the Met doesn’t operate in Somerset.
But others seemed to side with Stormzy, pointing out that heroin is hardly a party drug.
One wrote: ‘The point is the Met drawing a link where the [sic] is none to smear an event they don’t like.’
