Singer Sting sells £37m penthouse as he and Trudie swap homes in Manhattan

STING and his wife Trudie Styler are poised to make a £17million profit on a property sale after flogging their stunning Manhattan penthouse.
The 66-year-old rock star and his 63-year-old wife are reported to have sold their luxury 16th and 17th floor duplex overlooking Central Park for £37million.

The couple agreed to shave £5million off the asking price after the home was first put on the market in May for $56million (£42million). They bought the Central Park West property in 2008 for £20million.

The new buyer will get to enjoy the 5,500 sq ft property’s floating staircase and free-standing fireplace, along with a 400 sq ft terrace.
It is rumoured the ex-Police frontman — who penned the hits Every Breath You Take and Englishman In New York — is moving with Trudie to a new building dubbed the ‘billionaires’ bunker’, which is due to be completed at Central Park South next year.
A source told the New York Post: ‘The deal is signed, but the sale won’t close until next year, which will give Sting and Trudie time to get their new apartment ready.’

The sale is the latest smart property move for the couple, who have made headlines in the past for their boasts about tantric sex. Two years ago they made a £13.3million profit from selling their nine bedroom Grade-I listed townhouse in central London for £19million.
They had snapped up that property in 2003 for £5.7million.
