Shawn Mendes’ hurtful meeting with Drake

SHAWN MENDES feared he’d end up in jail after being put in an armlock for trying to say ‘hi’ to fellow countryman Drake.

The There’s Nothing Holding Me Back singer, who has met the rapper twice before, tried to schmooze him at The Weeknd’s Toronto gig last weekend.

But getting close to his idol hurt — as the Hotline Bling star’s guard roughed Mendes up for touching the singer, 30.

‘My arm’s hooked behind my back,’ Mendes, 19, told US TV chat show host Jimmy Fallon.

‘I see Drake look over. My eyes are like, “Help me, please.” In that moment, if he didn’t know who I was I would’ve been in jail.’
