Sarah Jessica Parker ‘devastated’ by Kim Cattrall’s rant
SARAH JESSICA PARKER’S pals have leapt to her defence after her former Sex And The City co-star Kim Cattrall mauled her in an Instagram post.
Bad blood has existed between the pair for a number of years but Parker reached out at the weekend, passing on her condolences to Cattrall following the death of her brother, Chris, last week.
However, fans were left stunned by Cattrall’s vicious rebuke.
The 61-year-old actress wrote: ‘I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.’ She went on to label the 52-year-old, who played sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the hit US show, a ‘hypocrite’ and ‘cruel’.
Liverpool-born Cattrall finished: ‘Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already). You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your “nice girl” persona.’ By contrast, Cattrall responded to co-star Cynthia Nixon’s condolences by writing: ‘Hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out.’
Stunned pals of Parker last night told American publication Us: ‘This will be absolutely devastating to her. She really is one of the nicest people in showbusiness. Not sure why Kim had to take it to this level.’ Fans also raged at Cattrall, who was man-eater Samantha Jones, in the show. One called her rant at SJP ‘petty’.
