Saoirse Ronan loves to beat the boys in battle of the sexes

OSCAR nominee Saoirse Ronan says she’s never been afraid to get on the ball when it comes to beating the fellas in the battle of the sexes.
Dressed for success in a pink pant suit on the cover of AnOther magazine, the Dubliner — who made her acting bow aged 13 in 2007 movie Atonement — says she has never let guys hold her back.
The 23-year-old, up for a best actress gong at next month’s Oscars for her role in Lady Bird, said: ‘From being a kid I’ve always been, “Well if a boy can do it I can do it”. I’d play Gaelic football on the boys’ team. I was like, “I can do it if they can!”’
Saoirse added: ‘I’m definitely the type of person that likes to have a goal. If I’m in the gym, I like to know how many reps I have to do, and unless I’m about to die I’ll get there!
‘Someone said to me recently that I’m monogamous with work. When I’m doing a job, I can’t think about, or look at, anything else. I’m just not able to do that.’
