Russell Crowe’s death-defying film stunt

RUSSELL CROWE says he is lucky to be alive after reliving a death-defying film stunt.
The star recalled clinging onto a helicopter for dear life while filming action thriller Proof Of Life, released in 2000.
And it was touch and go because he opted not to wear a harness — why Russell, why? ‘The director, Taylor Hackford, told the pilot to go over this battlefield and an explosion goes off,’ Crowe, 53, told Aussie radio show Nova.
‘I get 20 cuts across my face. The only thing that stopped me from dying was having a grip on a strap on the helicopter.’
