Robbie Williams: I faked being Liam to Slide Away for sex…
ROBBIE WILLIAMS has revealed he once pretended to be Liam Gallagher to have sex with a journalist.
The former Take That star had been up all night and knew Liam had booked a hotel room he wasn’t going to use, so decided to assume his identity.
Recounting the tale in his biography, Reveal, the I Wanna Be Like You singer said: ‘Did I ever tell you about the time I booked into a hotel as Liam Gallagher?’
‘I was up all night in Manchester and then got on the train the next day with all the journalists that were still awake, and pulled a journalist.
‘I think it was Later… With Jools Holland that he was supposed to be coming down for, and I knew that Liam wasn’t coming. I knew that he had a hotel room free and I knew his pseudonym — Billy Shears,’ he added.
‘So I checked in as Billy Shears and slept with this journalist.’
Williams said the ex-Oasis star, whom he befriended at Glastonbury in 1995, later discovered what he had done. ‘I think somebody told him,’ the dad-of-two said.
Liam called Robbie a ‘cheeky c***’ for pulling the hotel room stunt, he revealed.
‘I don’t know if it was “cheeky c***” good or “cheeky c***” bad. I’m guessing bad,’ the 43-year-old added.
Meanwhile, life’s not so rock’n’roll for Liam these days — after a video of him complaining about having to make his own tea was shared online.
Speaking on BBC Backstage Music Pass, Slide Away singer Liam, 45, moaned: ‘Now in the ’90s I got someone else to f***in’ do it, but now I can’t. F***in’ money is tight… too tight to mention. No one buys records these days.
‘In the ’90s I had about four people doing it… now you got to do it yourself.’
