Riz: Lena does everything swell…

SURF’S up for Riz Ahmed as he continues to make waves as an actor in both TV and movie blockbusters.

Last year the British star appeared in US TV drama The Night Of and in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But Riz, 34, says he is most proud of his roles in Lena Dunham’s comedy Girls and Netflix drama The OA, the brainchild of actress Brit Marling.

‘Lena is writing, directing, producing, acting AND she’s improvising completely new dialogue from one take to the next — it’s mind-blowing and intimidating,’ Riz, who plays a surfing instructor in Girls, told GP TV.

He said his turn as an FBI therapist in sci-fi hit The OA gave him another chance to work with a huge talent. ‘It captured a lot of imaginations and, again, is a show led by a woman, Brit, who is so multi-talented,’ he said.
