Rita Ora rushes to blaze victims’ aid
LOCAL lass Rita Ora could not sit idly by as Grenfell Tower — where she used to play as a child — continued to smoulder yesterday.
The I Will Never Let You Down singer rushed to lend a hand at one of the many help points that sprang up in the wake of the west London inferno yesterday.
Posting on Instagram earlier in the day, Rita recalled the tower in happier times.
‘This is my neighbourhood. I can’t believe this is happening. My prayers are with everybody involved my heart is beating so fast,’ she posted.
‘I used to play in that block — I want to do all I can do to help.’
The former X Factor judge continued to post videos on Instagram Story throughout the day, including one of her on her way to a help point.
In another, Rita looked poised to help sort through all the donations of food, water and clothing that had been pouring in from around London and further afield.
