Rami Malek: Playing Freddie Mercury could see my career bite the dust

RAMI MALEK says winning a role to play Queen frontman Freddie Mercury at first felt like A Kind Of Magic — but now he fears it be could be a career-ending move.
The US actor was jumping for joy when cast in Bohemian Rhapsody — until he realised just how complex the Under Pressure singer was.
‘When I got this role, I thought, “Oh, my God, this could be a career-defining performance”. Two minutes later I thought, “This could be a career killer”. I am not kidding,’ said the 36-year-old Mr Robot star.
‘You don’t get this right, and it’s trouble. When I studied him (Mercury), I realised there is no one like this human being.’
The biopic, out in November, will chart the rock band’s rise to fame.
