Racy Jilly rides again — on Tinder

THE novelist famous for creating caddish character Rupert Campbell-Black has been getting to grips with ‘flicking away like mad’ for her latest book.
Jilly Cooper has revealed that she hasn’t let being 80 stop her joining dating app Tinder and swiping to her heart’s content — in fact she thoroughly enjoyed it.
‘Swipe left and right for like and not like. I loved it!” she told the Daily Mail.
But Jilly did want to be clear it was just ‘for research purposes because I want people to do it in my next book. They are all going to flick away like mad’.
Her latest book is set in the football world, and as part of her WAG-ish explorations Jilly even gave speed dating a go.
‘In my day it was the four-minute mile; now it is the four-minute male,’ she joked.
But Jilly, who lost husband Leo Cooper in 2013, reckons she’s too long in the tooth for dating now.
‘I think I am a bit old to subject myself to somebody, quite honestly,’ she said.
‘I have to take my teeth out at night, and that wouldn’t be much fun for anyone.’
