Queens of the silver screen at premiere of The Favourite

OLIVIA COLMAN cemented her status as Queen of TV and now film — after she led showbiz royalty up the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie The Favourite.
The British star, who plays the Queen in Netflix’s The Crown, this time portrays 18th century Queen Anne in Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos’s royal comedy drama.

The movie, which has already landed rave reviews, sees Colman, 44, star opposite Oscar winner Emma Stone, 28, who plays a poor cousin. New mum Rachel Weisz, 48, stars as one of the queen’s favourite ladies-in-waiting.

Joining them at last night’s American Express Gala at Cineworld in London’s Leicester Square were co-stars Nicholas Hoult, Mark Gatiss and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
