Purple Rain returns to Spotify

PRINCE fans will be able to listen to iconic tracks such as Purple Rain and Raspberry Beret on Spotify for the first time in months from this Sunday.
In an deal thrashed out between the music streaming service and Prince’s Warner Bros catalogue, the tracks have been made available again just in time for this weekend’s Grammy Awards.
Prince, who died in April last year, famously withdrew his music from all streaming services except Jay Z’s Tidal in July 2015, having said previously: ‘The internet’s completely over.
‘I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else.
‘They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it.’
Prince’s estate has not been involved in the deal.
