Victoria Beckham’s birthday ‘cake’ turns some fans’ tums
VICTORIA Beckham got a ‘fruity’ surprise from hubby David and their four kids when she turned 44 yesterday.
While many of us would be happiest tucking into a chocolate cake on our big day, it would seem the ever svelte Spice Girl prefers ‘fruit cake’ — and we don’t mean one with cherries and plenty of icing on top either, oh no.
Instead, Posh posted a clip of herself cutting into a watermelon, strawberry and blueberry concoction.
Despite — or more likely because — of the lack of calories, she captioned the image: ‘They know me too well!!! Fruit birthday cake for breakfast!’
While one fan applauded her willpower — ‘You are what you eat. That’s why she ALWAYS looks fabulous’ — not everyone was so sure, with one commenting, ‘worst cake ever’, while another agreed, saying, ‘what a sad cake’.
But another fan took a more live-and-let-live approach, posting: ‘She can have her cake of fruit and I’ll have my cake of cheese. We good.’
Irrespective of what anyone else might think of her birthday treat, Posh seemed overjoyed at spending the day with her family.
Alongside a photo of herself and David on Instagram she wrote: ‘Love u so so much @davidbeckham x Thank u for making my birthday so special x The perfect day!! All 6 of us together x kisses x.’
She also shared an Instagram video story revealing birthday cards from her children, which she captioned: ‘kisses from my babies x’.
Meanwhile, hubby David earned himself some brownie points by posting a sweet family snap and referring to his wife as ‘young lady’.
‘Happy birthday to this young lady,’ he wrote. ‘Amazing mummy @victoriabeckham @brooklynbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham £HarperSeven’.
