P!nk sees red over Grammy chief’s insult to female stars

GRAMMYS boss Neil Portnow is eating humble pie after the viewing figures for Sunday’s show plummeted to an all-time low.
The results came hours after Portnow defended snubbing female musicians in the top categories by telling them to ‘step up’ their game. Last night, he apologised, saying his comment had been ‘taken out of context’.
Only 19.8million viewers tuned in for the show from New York’s Madison Square Garden, down from last year’s 26.1million.
Meanwhile P!nk, 38, raged at Portnow on Twitter, saying: ‘Women in music don’t need to “step up”. Women have been stepping since the beginning of time. Stepping up, and also stepping aside. Women OWNED music this year.’
