Piers Morgan puts his foot in it – with Dyer consequences
PIERS Morgan has risked sparking the ire of TV hardman Danny Dyer once again by accusing his daughter of ‘faking’ romance.
The Good Morning Britain presenter is well-known for thinking the Love Island contestants — of which Danny’s daughter Dani is one — are ‘braindead’.
But last week, when he came face to face with her dad, he seemed to change his tune, describing her as an ‘oasis of intelligence and beauty and grace’.
Today, however, Piers seemed to forget himself while watching a clip from the ITV show as his co-hosts Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins defended the show.
‘Sorry… what?!’ he said. ‘Two people on live television faking some kind of romance?!
‘They’re not in love, they’re in love with being Z-list celebrities.’
At this point Susanna reminded him who he was dissing, saying: ‘Err, you do know who’s involved here? That’s Danny Dyer’s daughter.’
Piers quickly backtracked, saying: ‘I massively misunderstood the situation!
