Now let hero Tom Hardy have a go at James Bond

CHASING and catching a suspected moped thief proved the perfect audition for Tom Hardy if he wants to be the next James Bond.
Bookmakers slashed the actor’s odds to replace Daniel Craig after reports that he leapt through gardens and a building site in true action-movie style.
Witnesses said the 39-year-old star (pictured) ‘switched into superhero mode’ and, when he eventually caught the youth, he even appeared to frisk him for weapons before police arrived.
The real-life drama took place on Sunday close to Hardy’s home in Richmond, south-west London, when he chased two youths on a suspected stolen scooter. Witnesses said the pair jumped a red light before crashing into a £50,000 Mercedes.
Hardy, star of Batman film Dark Knight Rises, as well as TV dramas Taboo and Peaky Blinders, is said to have performed a citizen’s arrest on a fleeing suspect.
‘Hardy’s chances of becoming Bond have increased given that he seems to be a real-life action hero,’ said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly, after his odds were slashed from 4/1 to 3/1. He is now second favourite to Idris Elba.
Police confirmed two 16-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and taking a vehicle without consent. Both were treated in hospital for injuries and released. Hardy’s spokesman is yet to comment.
