My husband popular? Ono he’s Yoko, admits Sir Elton
SIR ELTON JOHN and his husband David Furnish were surrounded by celeb friends at the singer’s 70th birthday bash last weekend — but the Rocket Man has admitted the man in his life has also made some enemies.
He revealed the 54-year-old film director has been dubbed ‘Yoko’ — after Beatle John Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono — for getting rid of many of the singer’s long-time staff.
Sir Elton admitted: ‘He hasn’t exactly been Mr Popular with a lot of people who have fallen by the wayside, that had to fall by the wayside because they were useless.’
The star added the couple of 24 years are happier than ever after welcoming sons Zachary, six, and Elijah, four. ‘It makes all the difference because it’s about them not you,’ he told Beats 1.
