Mum’s got an Oscar, but Olivia Colman’s kids don’t care

THEIR mum might have just won an Oscar but Olivia Colman says her kids don’t give two hoots about her fame.
The 45-year-old star of The Favourite alluded to her sons Finn, 14, and Hall, 12, having no interest in her career during her acceptance speech for best actress on Sunday — and has now revealed how hard they are to impress.
‘They don’t really care, and I’m really pleased,’ said Colman, who was pregnant with her daughter while filming 2016 TV hit The Night Manager. She added: ‘They’re not that bothered. It’s not the important part of our day. Mummy has a job and she loves it and she’s very happy. I want them to know that work is not work if you really love it.
‘They’re deliciously sort of uninterested in what I do, which is really nice. They have not seen much of my work.’
Colman, who has been married to actor Ed Sinclair for 18 years, first realised her fame was a lost cause with her boys when she appeared in Doctor Who in 2010. She thought they would be able to watch but had forgotten that CGI had been used to give her character ‘really scary teeth’. She said: ‘As soon as that happened, they both went, “Aah! (crying)”. And we went, “Oh God. Turn it off, turn it off”.’
