Michael B Jordan: Black Panther will show black kids they can be heroes

BLACK Panther star Michael B Jordan has taken a swipe at the stereotypical roles offered to black actors.
He hopes Marvel’s game-changing superhero film, out next week, will show his peers they ‘don’t gotta be crackheads or gangbangers’.
‘Black kids growing up don’t have many positive examples to look at on TV and film,’ he said. ‘We don’t have to be comic relief. We can be superheroes.’
Jordan, 30, who is Erik Killmonger in the movie, told GQ magazine (out Thursday): ‘Imagine what that’s going to do to the imagination and ambition of kids watching movies.’
