Mel B to divorce despite declarations of love
MEL B has filed for divorce from her husband Stephen Belafonte — despite describing him as ‘my world’ only last month.
The former Spice Girl is citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and listed the date of their separation as December 28, 2016, according to court documents published by the Mail Online.
But in February, the singer took to Instagram with a picture of the pair out on a date night.
She captioned it: ‘Late night dinner with my baby boo @stephenthinks11 my everything,my life,my world,love you to the end and back… #tenyearsmarried’.
She also posted another of her kissing her husband of nearly a decade, captioned: ‘My baby boo @stephenthinks11 we have been through everything that would normally tear couples apart and we have come out on the other side stronger,you loved me before I even new how to really love myself,you are my world honey’.
Perhaps it should have been obvious trouble was brewing as she signed off the post with: ‘…and let’s not forget you are a bit of a d***head too’.
The couple share a five-year-old daughter, Madison, and Mel is seeking joint custody.
One thing she is not prepared to share, however, is her fortune. Documents denying spousal support to Belafonte have reportedly been seen by The Sun.
