Madison Beer: Yes, I did kiss Brooklyn but we’re just friends
AMERICAN singer Madison Beer admits she scored with Brooklyn Beckham — but insists they were never going to be a love match.
In an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, the 18-year-old talked about the public snog she had with David and Victoria’s eldest son before he returned to his ex, actress Chlöe Grace Moretz.
‘We were just good friends that kissed one time and got photographed,’ Madison spilled before presenting a trophy at last night’s MTV European Music Awards. She was snapped puckering up to Brooklyn in Los Angeles during the summer — but says it was nothing more than a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it teenage fling.
‘Everyone thought we were married,’ she laughed. ‘People forget that we’re teenagers, we’re both 18-year-olds, we’re not at that point.
‘He was never my boyfriend, he’s just a friend of mine who I adore.’
Brooklyn — who recently rekindled his romance with Chlöe, 20 — has no need to worry about Madison’s fiery new single Say It To My Face. ‘It’s not about a boy,’ she said. ‘I get a lot of hate on the internet and I say to myself all the time, “They’ll never say it to my face”. They’ve said the meanest things you can imagine but I’m used to it… it used to affect me a lot more than it does now.’
Before taking to the stage at Wembley’s SSE Arena, Madison confessed she was hoping to bump into a certain grime artist who was on the bill. ‘I would love to get to know Stormzy a little bit,’ she said. ‘I met him once before, he was so sweet, but it was super-quick, a “hi and bye”.’
