Louis ‘rushed to girlfriend’s aid’ in scuffle

LOUIS TOMLINSON was rushing to his girlfriend’s defence when he was accused of ‘socking’ a female fan in the face, it emerged yesterday.
The One Direction star was arrested on Friday night after an extraordinary bust-up at Los Angeles airport. Video footage shows the 25-year-old tussling on the floor with a photographer after telling him to put away his camera.
The Drag Me Down singer is then seen racing towards Eleanor Calder, 24, who appeared to be attacked by three girls who are believed to be filming Tomlinson.
One girl was bundled to the floor and claims she injured her eye because of the star, who is heard shouting in the clip, ‘What the hell is happening?’ and ‘Can we get some help?’
The girl later told reporters: ‘The guy socked me,’ adding: ‘He’s going to jail.’
Tomlinson’s lawyer said: ‘The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis. While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend and he came to her defence, causing airport security to intervene.’
Tomlinson, accused of battery, was freed on £16,000 bail, according to website TMZ. He is due to appear in court in Los Angeles on March 29.
