AGYNESS DEYN is put through the wringer in a new crime drama from the creator of Luther.

In this exclusive picture, the model-turned-actress sports a cut lip and bloody nose for her first TV leading role in the BBC’s Hard Sun.

Getting a bitter taste of life on the beat as ‘difficult and damaged’ detective Elaine Renko, the 34-year-old couldn’t be further from the catwalk.

‘As soon as I read the first episode I was hooked,’ she said. With the help of partner Robert Hicks, played by Jim Sturgess, 38, Renko must protect her loved ones in a world on the verge of apocalypse.

Former chip shop worker Agyness retired from modelling in 2012, but has brought back her fetching short-back-and-sides ’do for the series, written by Neil Cross. Hard Sun airs later this year.
