Lofty Lee’s back on the wards

Casualty actor Lee Mead is set to make a comeback — but this time in rival show Holby City.
The hunk, who won BBC1’s singing contest Any Dream Will Do, has been on a break from medical dramas since his character Ben ‘Lofty’ Chiltern resigned to retrain as a bereavement counsellor and take a trip Down Under.
Now Lofty is switching out of the emergency department and Lee can’t wait.
‘I’m really excited to be coming back as Lofty. I’ve missed him,’ he said.
‘I’m looking forward to being in a new part of the Holby hospital and seeing what it has in store for him next.’
And Lee isn’t the only returning star as Jaye Jacobs’ Nurse Donna Jackson is back on Holby City’s wards, having left in 2011.
‘Donna and I have unfinished business,’ Jaye said. ‘She’s flirty, brash and ballsy. I’ve missed her!’
