‘Kind’ fans cheer up Sir Elton John as he beats deadly bug

SIR ELTON JOHN has thanked fans for their well wishes after being admitted to intensive care with a mystery illness.

The singer has cancelled gigs at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, next month, after becoming ‘violently ill’ on a flight to the UK from Chile last week.

The dad-of-two,, 70, spent two days in hospital after he was struck down with a ‘rare, potentially deadly infection’ on his South American tour. He is ‘expected to make a full recovery’, a spokesman said.

The I’m Still Standing singer yesterday took to Instagram to praise fans. ‘Woke up to an avalanche of kindness and well wishes,’ he wrote. He is due to return to the stage at Twickenham on June 3.
